Campus Intellectual Property Protection Advocacy

Main Point of Campus Intellectual Property Protection Advocacy and Execution Team Settings

 Adopted at the 228th Enlarged Administration Conference on September 16, 2010.
 
In order to vigorously initiate and implement campus intellectual property protection, we have specially established campus intellectual property protection advocacy and an execution team (hereinafter referred to as the team) to enact this main point.

 
The team's tasks are as follows: 
     (1)Plan and promote activities related to the advocacy of laws and regulations of intellectual property rights.
     (2) Implement the examination of legal utilization of kinds of        campus intellectual property.
     (3) Discuss affairs involving staff and students who violate the    related school regulations of intellectual property.
     (4) Other consultancy, planning and execution of measures related to campus intellectual property protection.
 
The team consists of a number of committee members, including the vice-principal, chief secretary, dean of studies, dean of student affairs, dean of general affairs, director of R&D, curator of the library and information center, chief personnel officer, director of the general center, director of the R&D center for hospitality and tourism technology, director of the center for teaching and learning development, deans of the college of further education, of hospitality and tourism and all the other colleges, and student representatives. The vice-president holds the post of convener.
The executive secretary of the team is the curator of the library and information center, who is in charge of the team's affairs under the command of convener.
 
The team holds at least one meeting every semester, as well as interim meetings depending on the business necessity. When the convener fails to attend the meeting, he has to appoint a member to act for him, and when necessary, should invite scholars and experts with a legal background or representatives from related organizations to attend the meeting.
 
Only when more than half of the members are present can a meeting be held; and only when more than half of the members agree can a resolution be approved.
 
The main point has been adopted by discussions at the administration conference, and published and implemented after approval of the principal. It is also the same to amend.
